Anne & Jason Say I Do in Kuranda, Cairns

Anne & Jayson

Once again I was packed up and heading North to Cairns to capture another beautiful Wedding at Kuranda, The Billabong to be precise. This venue settled at the top of the Kuranda range really does have it all, including the Billabong backdrop and the tall green natives that help create the perfect back drop for a stunning wedding. All that need to be added for such a place was a bride, groom and plenty of loving friends and family. And that brings us to Jason and Anne.

The morning with Jason and the boys was pretty much like most wedding mornings with the guys. Beers, laughs and mucking around. All which are right up my ally to be honest. Jason was really chilled out for the morning of his wedding, I personally think this can be attributed to a couple of fun loving groomsman who were all geared up and ready for a good day and a even better night.

Over at Anne's BnB a quiet morning was on it's way as the finishing touches were being done for Anne. Things started to get real when the stunning arrangement of floral's arrived and as the hair and makeup were completed it was time for Anne to jump into her wedding dress. She looked amazing and I know that Jason was going to be absolutely in awe when he first laid eyes on her.

The ceremony was conducted by the awesome Ali Colnoy who had the family and friends tuned into the love story of Jason and Anne. There were laughs, there were some happy tears and there was nothing but love as these two said there I do's in the beautiful sunlight at the Billabong under the watchful wet nose and peeping eyes of Banjo the very much loved fur child of the bride and groom. With nuptials said and the formal part of the day over it was onto a stunning sunset that provided these two newlyweds the perfect backdrop to the beginning of their new life together as husband and wife.

The party started and it never looked like stopping. Matty Boi was great at belting out some great tunes and getting the dance floor going. With a food truck and an ice cream van, life was good for the newly weds and to top the night off I grabbed the couple and took them over to a rather unusual location for a night photo and I can tell you now I was so glad we did.

Jason and Anne, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day. Feel free to check out the big day on the slideshow below or scroll over the images of the big day.

Karl & Samantha

Samantha & Karl

The big day of Karl and Samantha's wedding rolled around in the same week where the rain looked to throw a spanner in the works and just pour down all week, luckily that didn't quite happen.

Those who follow my work will know that there is just a few things that worry me on a wedding day and I can tell you that rain isn't one of them. The ideas pop and flow in my head when the rain starts. I have had so many DM's asking how to do shots like the first one you will see but honestly its something that takes time, concentration and education. Enough of that for now though lets get into the day that was such a beautiful wedding.

Heading to the boys I can tell you now I have seen it all, Hangovers, Breakfast beers, dancing, butt grabs, tequila shots, Missing groomsman and even 2 left shoes for the groom, all of that was competently absent from this morning all I could see were 3 bright eyed young men ready to get the day started and it was such a nice relaxed feeling in the room surrounded by family and Love. Once Karl and the boys were dressed we headed down to a very lush garden to grab a few portraits. The highlight of this particular experience was the letter and gift to Karl from his beautiful bride to be Samantha. I don't read the letter so I had no idea what was in the letter, that isn't my business I just get to capture the reaction something I absoulutly love. Now life can be beautiful, it can give you the highest of highs and unfortunately the lowest of lows. For Karl that comes in the form of not having his mum there beside him in person. It's hard to make these milestone steps with out your mum there but luckily Ann- Maria Karls " Godly-Mum" was there to take the reins on behalf of Karl's mum and it was nothing short of beautiful. With the boys all done for now it was time to head over to Samantha's.

When I arrived at the girls it was quiet. Way to quiet and that's completely fine. Some days its nice just to have a quiet morning to reflect on what was to come. With Mel from Townsville Bridal Hair and Pam from Sweet Five Beauty Doing a smashing job it was time for me to capture some details the dress and the beautiful floral's from Castletown Flower Hut. There is something special about getting ready at home. It's where the memories are it's comfortable and its everything a home should be and that day was no different. The time came for Samantha to get into her dress and she looked absolutely stunning. With some portraits in the front garden done it was time to head of to the church so that Father Joshy John can marry these two lovers in front of friends and family.

After the ceremony, family formals and the group shot all done it was time to head off down to Pallarenda for the bridal party shots including one of Karl's requested photos the "wheel clean". Earlier that day I spotted a tree that I thought we are definitely going to head back there. We did and it soon became a very popular trend among the Townsville Photography community. You see we stumbled upon the pink Tabebuia tree in full bloom and I knew straight away that it was going to be a beautiful backdrop for this couple and it really didn't disappoint. After the excitement of that little adventure we finished up at Jezzine boardwalk as the rain just started to come down. With this part of the day done it was time to head to the brothers leagues club to continue the party with friends and family. We weren't done with the portraits just yet. As the rain got heavier it was time to grab these two champions out of the comfort of the party make them share an umbrella and stand in the rain so I could capture two stunning portraits of these two in the rain. A tough ask but so worth it

Karl and Samantha, I really cant thank you enough for choosing us to capture your big day. You both deserve all the happiness this life brings you both.

Massive thanks to these guys for helping make a beautiful day come to life.
