Being a North Queensland photographer, it's nice to be asked to head on down into the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to capture a wedding. Situated in a venue overlooking the beautiful glass house mountains Kimberley and Andrew announced their love to each other in a beautiful little ceremony with just family and close friends to witness the event.
Weddings are always an emotional event, it really doesn't matter who you are, you can feel so many different emotions throughout the big day. For Kimberley's family they were no different. They were missing the key cornerstone of their family, Royce, Kimberley's dad. Sadly he had passed away before he got to see his little girl Kimberley all dressed up in her wedding gown for the first time and to be able to walk her down the aisle on this day.
This job fell on some big shoulders, those shoulders belonged to her son Bailey who did an outstanding job. Seeing his mother all dressed up for the first time, he stood tall and walked her down the aisle determined to deliver her to her soon to be husband Andrew.
Andrew standing in front of me was calm as he knew his soon to be wife was coming down the aisle. A few snaps later and the ceremony was underway conducted by the ever so professional Jacqueline Gray These two stood and exchanged vows and sealed the deal with what can only be described as one hell of an epic kiss. As they walked hand in hand back down the aisle the guests showered them in rose petals as they turned to hug and greet every family member and guest. Once the group shot was taken we hightailed it to a location I had scouted the day earlier... someones front yard (don't worry we never just walk onto private property to do what we want we always make sure to get permission first!) I was happy with just the foot path it looked that beautiful but as a photographer I am always scouting new and improved locations so as I was driving along the day before when I spotted these beautiful Autumn leaves falling from the tree's in Edwina Pickerings front yard I had to check it out. While I was checking out the foot path for some spots to grab some portraits Edwina came out for a chat and before you know it 20 mins had gone by and she kindly let me roll in with a bridal party to do some portraits in the front yard of this magnificent property.
From there we went to the very iconic one tree hill to capture the last light of the day and it certainly didn't disappoint. A picnic and some laughs accompanied by a few cold beers, we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon as the sun disappeared over the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The reception went on to be a fun celebration and a time for everyone to enjoy a few laughs and tears during the speeches and to let their hair down whilst carving up the dance floor. The food was great and the drinks flowed, really what more could you ask for! and finally the night came to an end... but this love story wasn't ending it was just the beginning for Kimberley and Andrew.
