In the day leading up to Josh and Chiquita's wedding, we had already run into so many people who had come in from out of the area to celebrate the big day, it was clear from the excitement that their wedding was going to be a day full of merriment.
Full disclosure I love this family, I have known them for a long time. I in a past life was a driller, Josh was the head workshop manager who enjoyed fixing the things myself and others would break. As time & beers went on my family and Josh's family grew closer together. So when Josh, Chiquita along with their two beautiful children Jaz & Kye planned this amazing wedding I couldn't wait to capture the big day.
This wedding was beautiful. Family friendly is what comes to mind as I think back to a beautiful ceremony set on the white sands of Kurrimine Beach. The blue water that laid over the king reef was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. Surrounded by friends and family these two tied the knot, it was raw, real and emotional and it was the wedding that they had planned with familiar faces and the comfort of knowing that the big day was here and the right people where there to celebrate.
After the mid morning ceremony, a casual lunch kicked off with some speeches and the usual reception activities. After that it was everything a family wedding should be, lawn games & a cupcake making station for the kids (big ones as well) and even a few hours reprieve for a nana nap in the sun for the party goers who had big plans for that night.
As the afternoon came to a close, this photographer was kicking back watching the friends and family of Josh and Chiquita celebrate. The one thing I loved about how this day was planned out is that they had so much time to mingle with all of the guests and not have the stress of a strict timeline. Whilst watching the fun happen I was keeping a keen eye on what was happening with this beautiful light that happens just before sunset. At the right time I grabbed the bridal party and took them for a stroll along the beach for some of the tongue & cheek (literally) fun photos. Once the beers were finished and the inappropriate jokes were done we said good buy to our bridal party and myself Josh and Chiquita took a stroll along the beach for some more of the romantic photos that I know they will love and cherish for years to come.
JP, Chiquita, Jaz and Kye -boy. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture the much anticipated wedding of the month, year & some may say decade.
